By inviting real world scientist to our camps to interact with the children, the campers get first hand insight to what its like to be a professional in these fields. In addition the children are exposed to various ways that the study of computers, and science in general has a daily effect on our lives. This includes every thing from how long it takes to download our favorite web site to what we use to brush our teeth in the morning.

We have included a few pictures from some of our favorite presenters for your viewing pleasure. More Coming soon...

Environmentalists Al Gore and
Bill Nye "The Science Guy"

During the summer of 2000 the BETR Science Camps were exclusively invited to have a discussion with Bill Nye the Science Guy and the then Vise President Al Gore, about the new reports on global warming.

This was a great experience for the children and staff alike to learn more about the latest information on the global warming trend. We also had an open discussion on the possibilities of different solutions.

Some of the solutions that were proposed by the children ranged from cutting back the use of fossil fuels that cause global warming to recycling, and writing letters to their local congressman.

To learn more about global warming and other ecological concerns we have compiled a list of informational sites for your convenience.
